Cornell Warthen was born on December 12th, 1941, to the late Albert B. and Roxie Parks in Griffin, Georgia. She was employed at Dundee Mills for over 35 years.
Cornell was the devoted mother of Leonard J. Warthen, the proud grandmother of Marquitta S. Willis and Latasia A. Warthen, and the loving great-grandmother of Oliviyah A. White and Octavius Q. White Jr.
She is also survived by her youngest brother, Wendolyn Parks, and his wife, Emma Jean Parks; her aunt Clara Braswell, her nephew, John Parks Jr.; and her nieces, Kimberly Conway (spouse Marvin Conway) and Gwendolyn Cummings (spouse Sherman Cummings). She was a cherished great-aunt to McKenzie Conway, McKaylee Conway, Sherman Cummings Jr., Shiloh Cummings, and Halo Cummings.
Cornell was preceded in death by her brother, Johnnie Lee Parks.
She leaves behind a host of extended family members, cousins, aunt and dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Cornell brought joy to all who knew her-family, friends, and neighbors alike. She loved wholeheartedly, gave generously, and lived with quiet strength and unwavering devotion. She deeply loved the Lord, and her faith remained a constant in her life.
She will be deeply missed, and her memory will forever be treasured.
