Ms. Valerie R. Gorham born June 18th, 1967, to Ronnie J., and Trellis F. Gorham in Miami, Florida. Valerie was a member of Covenant Baptist Church in Florida City, Florida, where she faithfully attended every service. She worked in various industries such as Fast Food, Retail, Custodial Services, Pay Clerk and Associate Manager for Financial Securities. Her final position was the receptionist at Huntsville Utilities. Valerie was a resident of Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama. She entered into rest Saturday, July 27th, 2024, at North Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation of Birmingham, Alabama.

She had a true love for her family and yearned for opportunities to spend time laughing and joking with her loved one's. Valerie enjoyed traveling. She especially enjoyed vacations on the beach and eating seafood! Her pastimes were watching TikTok videos, thrift store shopping, and enjoying various restaurants. Valerie had an infectious smile and always found a way to keep everyone around her happy. She had such a persuasive nature that allowed her to make easy connections with just about anyone. Her smile will be missed!

Valerie is preceded in death by her beloved Great-Great Grandmother: Mrs. Mary Mitchell; Great Grandmother: Ella Mathis; Great Uncle: Thomas Charles Mathis; Grandmother: Ethel Turner; Paternal Grandparents: Joe Nepolean and Georgia Gorham; Stepfather: (Pops) Dondi Ray White; Uncles: George Gorham, Larry Gorham, Morris Gorham and Joe Nepolean Gorham, Jr.; First Cousins: Nichelle Mathis and Amanda Westbrooks; and her beloved brother: Ronnie J. Mathis.

Valerie is survived by her Father and Mother: Ronnie J. and Trellis F. Gorham; Loving Fiancé: Johnnie Murriel; Bonus Daughter: Nashay Roberts (Jackie); Sister: Jemiko (Kelly) Whatley; Nephews: Jamal Ellis, Rhoderick Mathis, Kiwane Jarmon and Kashun Whatley; Nieces: Keyondra Foreman and Latoya Roberts; Great-Nephews: Kingston Ellis and Liam Whatley-Roper; Great Uncle and Great Aunt: Rev. Labon Harris, Jr. (Annette); Uncles: Haywood Gorham, Sr. (Irene), Harold Mathis (Terry)  and John Turner; Aunts: Doris Gorham-Barr, Winnie Gorham, Florence Gorham, Audrey Townes (Willie), Shirley Mathis and Cynthia Turner. Valerie has numerous beloved cousins and dear friends who brought her much love and joy.
