The passing of Thalia Hollis has called us together today. An angelic being walked over the earth with silent footsteps and took our loved one away. But Thalia is ever near us, though unseen. For all the boundless universe is life; there is no death. The giver just takes back His loved ones unto Himself, after they have worked such beautiful patterns during their temporarily stay here.

Thalia Hollis, a resident of the Spalding County, born in Griffin, Georgia on November 15, 1981. She was the only child of Mrs. Jessica A. James-Hollis and Mr. John Hollis. She received her formal educations in the public schools of Spalding County and graduated from Griffin High School in 2000. After graduation, her career was expended several years in retail sales and management before a career utilizing her leadership skills in the childcare industry.

Through Thalia's union with Carl Wesley Jones, III she was blessed with an adorable son, Carl Wesley Jones, V, the sunshine of her life.

At an early age she was dedicated back to the Lord through christening at St. Phillip A.M.E. Church in Griffin, Georgia. Later in years, professing her faith and accepting Christ as her Lord and Master she united with the Mt Oliver Outreach Ministries where she attended regularly. She served as a member of the usher Board and often used her gifted voice in the Mt. Oliver Outreach Ministries choir. The ideals and moral values by which she lived and the love and sense of service which she expressed so eloquently throughout her life forms a lasting record worthy of admiration.

Thalia was a compassionate, warm, and loving person, affectionately called "Nounie". Thalia had deep pronounced dimples and a lovely smile that would light up any room. She had an image of kindness and love which she showed to everyone she encountered. Such a life, a character, a person possessed with, loveliness. Her Godliness and purpose will never be lost. Her deeds, good works, and Christian example leave a legacy for us all to follow long after she has entered into her final place of rest.

She was called from our midst on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Preceding her in death are Grandparents, Mr. Thomas (Nellie) Hollis and a special Cousin, Tiffani Y. Evans.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving Mother, Mrs. Jessica A. Hollis-Grier; her Father, John Hollis; one beloved Son, Carl Wesley Jones, IV, one Grandmother, Bertha M. Hollis, Stepfather, Mr. Chester Grier, one Great Aunt Willie B. Evans.

Seven Aunts: Bridgette R. James, Karen Hollis, Veneshia Nicole Mallory (Shedrick), Tommie Jean Hollis, Patricia Hollis, Linda Wilson, Phyllis Wilson; four Uncles: Michel Hollis, Fred Hollis, Willie Hollis, and Kenny Hollis; a special Friend Aquilla McGhee and a host of Nieces, Cousins and Friends.
