Mr. Steve Young, Jr. was born August 14th, 1957, in Zebulon, Georgia to the late Mr. & Mrs. Steve & Carrie Young, Sr. After the death of Steve, Jr.'s mother, his grandmother: Eddie Mae Young, endeavored to raise him. Steve was raised-up with Brenda Andrews, Bobby Willis and Willis Gaston and considered them as his sisters and brothers.

After Steve's grandmother passed away, he looked for guidance from his cousin Christine Sands. He later graduated from Job Corp and was awarded a certification and license qualifying him to work on heavy machinery. He enjoyed this line of work until he had a life altering accident and became permanently disabled.

Steve accepted Christ in his life and became a member of the Shield of Faith Christian Center under the leadership of Bishop Christopher E. Clark.

On Monday, February 26th, 2024, at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital, Steve transitioned from this earthly vessel to his heavenly home. Left to cherish the loving memories are his wife: Cheryl Head; Cousins: Joan Strapp and Lillie Jewell; along with a host of sisters, brothers, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
