Mrs. Shirley Ruth Mayes-Joiner was born in Spalding County on June 15th, 1949 to the late Rufus Mayes, Sr. and the late Fannie Beasley-Blackmon. She had five sibling that preceded her in death: Marline Miller, Clifford Jenkins, Anna Turnipseed, Larris Blackmon and Miles Mayes. She departed this earthy life on July 25th, 2023 at her home surround by those whom loved her most, her children.

She was married to the late Henry (Joe) Joiner on February 23rd, 1966 until his death on March 19th, 1994. She leaves to cherish her memories three children; Rodney Joiner, Rhonda Joiner, and Richard Joiner. Six grandchildren: Roddreques (Drek) Joiner, Keira Greene-Matthews, Akeem (AJ) Joiner, Kalil (Rashad) Joiner, Destini Shepard and Jaylen Shepard along with ten great grand-kids; one sister: Debra Mayes-Hastings; one brother: Rufus (Gail) Mayes, Jr.; three daughters-in-love: Debra Ray, Yvonne Stinson and Mattie Eppinger; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
