~ Reflections of Life ~

A Time to Be Born. . .Mr. Ronnie Lyons was born in Griffin, Georgia on May 25, 1956, the son of Robert and Fannie Mae Lyons. He was the youngest of his three siblings, Willie James (“Butch”), Ralph (“Hammer”), and Yvonne. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Robert and Mrs. Fannie Mae and his brother “Hammer”.

A Time to Live. . .At an early age, Ronnie joined the Greater Spring Hill Baptist Church where he attended services and Sunday School with his siblings and parents. Because of the closeness of their family and the way Ronnie always looked out for all of them, his big brother “Butch” affectionately gave him the nickname, “Blood”. After graduating from Griffin High School in the Class of 1974, Ronnie immediately went to work. He eventually started a career with United Parcel Service (UPS) where he worked for approximately 30 years. His last official administrative title at UPS was Shifter (often referenced as “Yard Dog”). Additionally, he was the CEO and Owner of Lyons Lawn and Landscaping Company where his theme was “Every Customer is a Happy Customer.” Ronnie’s passions were gardening, traveling, and most importantly, spending time with family. Even though he was not a biological father, Ronnie was very close to all of his nephews (who passionately looked up to him for prayers, advice, guidance, and support) and his god children. Ronnie truly lived out his nickname of “Blood” through his close relationships with them all.

A Time to Die. . . After an extended illness, Ronnie transitioned to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday morning, June 15, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother “Hammer.” The love and life of Ronnie will forever be cherished by a host of family and friends including his siblings Wilie (“Butch”) Lyons (Emmete), Yvonne Lyons Brown (Tim), nephews, Terrell Lyons, Willie J. (“June Bug”) Lyons, Jr. (Natasha), Derrick Lyons (Markita), Dennis Wiliamson (Kim), Remington James Lyons and nieces Lakesha King and Whitney Lyons. Ronnie has one surviving aunt--Nettie C. Barber (age 101) who resides in College Park, Georgia. Additionally, he is survived by a close extended family including Robin Mathews, Cordarius Johnson, Kaeyuni (“Cupcake”) Brummit, Frankie Stinson, God children-BJ Walker and Haille Walker, and a number of cousins, other family members, and friends.
