Deacon Robert Lee Lattimore, Sr. affectionately known as "Sonny" was born in Dublin, Georgia (Laurens County) on October 26th, 1948 to the Late Mr. Johnny and Mrs. Levonia Lattimore. On Wednesday, August 16th, 2023, Robert was called to his eternal rest and peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family.
Robert was the 7th of 13 Children. 7 Siblings preceded him in death: Willie C. Lattimore, Ralph "Debo" Lattimore, Rosetta Blue, Pauline "Paula" Lattimore-Smith, Doris "Tudder" Lattimore-Wiggins, Louis "NIck" Lattimore and (2) two Grandsons: Romeo Lavon Lattimore and Daquan Theron Lattimore.
While attending Oconee High School, he met the lovely Jeanette Johnson in the Halls. That meeting led to a 53 year marriage. After High School, he was drafted to the United States Army. Following his military service, he relocated to Detroit, Michigan and began a career with Chrysler Automotive for 31 years. He was also a licensed Electrician and Certified HVAC Professional. After retirement, he relocated to Griffin, Georgia (Spalding County). There he served in many leadership roles to include Deacon and Finance Chair at Rehoboth Church of God in Christ, several positions with Spalding County and Employment at Gordon State College.
Throughout his life, he was known as a Jack of all Trades and influenced the lives of all he encountered. He had an infectious smile that would brighten the day of anyone in his presence.
He leaves to Cherish his Memories his devoted wife: Jeanette Lattimore; (3) three Sons: Stefan Lattimore of Detroit, Michigan, Cedrick (Sonya) Lattimore of Charlotte, North Carolina, Robert (Starlitt) Lattimore, Jr. of Detroit, Michigan; (1) one Daughter: Shaunte (Donovan) McKinney of Detroit, Michigan; (1) one Adopted Granddaughter: Malikan (Brian) Johnson of Detroit, Michigan; Man's Best Friend "Charlie" of Griffin, Georgia; 22 Grandchildren, 6 Great-Grandchildren, 5 Brothers and 1 Sister: Johnny (Mary) Lattimore, Jr. of Dublin, Georgia, Wayman (Ella) Lattimore of Dublin, Georgia, Delores (Edward G) Foster of Atlanta, Georgia, James (Hattie) Lattimore of Douglassville, Georgia, Rostelle (Dr. Kim) Lattimore of Houston, Texas, Theotis (Sharrie) Lattimore of Detroit, Michigan; 2 Sister-in-Love's: Virginia McClendon of McDonough, Georgia and Deborah Canon of Dublin, Georgia; 2 Brother-in-Love's: Herbert (Patricia) Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia and Michael Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; along with a host of Nieces, Nephews, Additional Relatives and Close Friends.
He lived to the Fullest and Whenever you Were in His Prescence, You Had to Enjoy Life as Well.
Robert a.k.a. Sonny will be Greatly Missed By All.
