In Loving Memory of Patricia Morrow Anthony
June 29, 1946 – May 2, 2026
Patricia (Alford) Morrow Anthony, a woman whose life truly epitomized the meaning of her name, “noble,” passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026. A lady in every sense of the word, she possessed a bold, fiery spirit balanced by deep empathy and an unwavering devotion to her faith and family.
A proud native of Brunswick, Georgia, Patricia graduated from Risley High School before attending Albany State College. It was there that she met Willie Morrow (soon to be Private Morrow); she graduated in the Class of 1968 with a degree in Psychology, and they were united in holy matrimony that same year. As a devoted military wife, Patricia spent a decade living in various places and overseas while raising their four children. Following a tragic automobile accident that left her a widow, she returned to the United States to provide a stable and loving home as a dedicated homemaker.
In time, through an introduction by her sister Frances, Patricia found love again and married Mr. Johnny Anthony, warmly embracing two stepchildren into her heart. After years as a homemaker, Patricia returned to her studies, eventually enrolling at Georgia State University and completing her teaching certification. Patricia later returned to school to earn her master’s degree from Walden University, as well.
She went on to touch countless lives as an elementary school educator, serving the Griffin-Spalding and Clayton County School Systems for 21 years until retirement in 2010.
Patricia was an avid reader of the Bible and a "professor of the Word." She found constant strength in her faith. She delighted in the simple joys of life, such as cooking, singing, shopping, traveling, and, above all, caring for the "babies" of the family. Her world revolved around her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel Sr., and Susie Alford; her siblings Robert Alford, Sr., William Alford Sr., Elzie Alford, Frances Anthony, and Patty Washington-Gloade; her granddaughter Imani Morrow; and her stepson, Cedric Anthony Sr.
Her legacy of selfless love continues through her devoted husband of 46 years, Johnny Anthony; her siblings, Dorothy Cuthbert (Herbert), Betty Bellman (John), Arthur Alford, James Alford, & Joel Alford; and her children, Willie Morrow Jr. (Catrina), Sherrie Williams (David), Errol Morrow (Mendi), Charity Adams (Yaquarri), and Nedria Wong (stepdaughter).
Patricia also leaves behind 16 cherished grandchildren: Brittany, Cedric Jr. (LC), Ryan, Blake, Brandi, Aaron, Yaquarri II (Ariana), Trinity, Nia, Elijah, Malachi, Sequoyah, Kalani, Sharrie, Genesis, and Brayden; as well as 7 great-grandchildren: Journi, Aaron Jr., Nyliah, Kendal, Carter, Yaquarri III, and Milo; with one more precious great-grandchild on the way; & a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends.
Patricia’s enduring legacy will be carried on by all who were fortunate to call her "Momma," family, teacher, or friend.
