January 24, 1947 – January 12, 2026

Robert was predeceased by his only son, Robert L. Bogan, Jr., as well as his parents, John Idell and Ella Louise Bogan.
Robert received his education in the Griffin-Spalding County School System and graduated from Fairmont High School with the Class of 1965.
Robert was an active member of Saint Phillip A.M.E. Church since his childhood. He served on various boards during his lifetime of service to the ministry.
In February of 1966, Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19. He served his Country during the Vietnam War. After completing his active-duty enlistment, he joined the Georgia National Guard, where he served until 1974.
Robert was actively involved with several community organizations, including the Emancipation Program, NAACP, Griffin Senior Center, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion Post 546, and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8480, where held Gold Member Status.
Robert worked at Dundee Mills, INC Plant #215 until it closed. He continued his employment at Southern States in Hampton, Georgia until he retired in 2012.
Robert enjoyed traveling, golf, fishing, walking, photography and playing with his grandchildren.
Robert was predeceased by five sisters and six brothers. He is survived by his granddaughter: Diequela Smith (Shannon), and grandson: Deonte Chapman; brothers: Charles E. Bogan, Sr., James O. Bogan (Carol), Eddie B. Bogan (Janice), Randy J. Bogan (Annie Laura), sister-in-love: Maria Bogan; five great-grandchildren: Gabrielle A. Bradshaw, Giorgio A. Bradshaw, Jr., Reagan A. Long, Ryan Armon Allen, and Adrian D. Chapman; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Bogan will be viewed an hour prior to the start of the ceremony. All service attendants are asked to assemble at the church no later than 9:45 AM.

11:45 am - 12:00 pm (Eastern time)
Military Honors will commence the Interment ceremony.
