I
n Loving Memory of Trudie Mae Lewis Harden
February 28th, 1937 – June 19th, 2025
The beautiful journey of Trudie Mae Lewis Harden began on February 28, 1937, when God
blessed the union of Lillie Mae Scott Lewis and James Lovett Lewis Sr., both of whom
preceded her in death. She was born in Midville, Georgia, and attended Blakeney High
School in Burke County. During her youth, she played basketball and worked as a cafeteria
worker at S.R. Dinkins Elementary School in Midville.
Trudie later became a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale,
Florida. She found joy in planting flowers, talking on the phone with her friends, rearranging
her home, and baking. Most of all, she loved her children. She also enjoyed watching reality
shows and soap operas.
She was first married to Willie James Davis (deceased), and from this union, one child was
born: Willie James (Cheryl) Davis Jr. She later relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where
she worked as a domestic worker and later married Ernest Harden (deceased). Five
children were born from this union: Valerie Harden, Marvin Harden, Alvin (Rose) Harden,
Gary Harden, and Gay Harden (deceased), Angel Harden and Sabrina Harden.
In the late hours of June 19, 2025, God called Trudie Mae Harden home.
She leaves to cherish her memory four brothers: Alvin, McArthur, Leotis (GA), and James
(FL); one sister, Berniece (CO); one special nephew, Randolph (TN); and two predeceased
brothers, John and Charles. She is also preceded in death by two sisters, Majorie and
Zelline. Trudie is lovingly remembered by fifteen nieces and nephews.
She leaves behind seven children, fifteen grandchildren—Bianca, Garin (VA), Cortney,
Travis, Megan, Treasure, Rashad, Brooke, Manisha (FL), Marquisha (CA), Matrakia, Tyria,
Heaven, Gabrielle, and Brittney (GA)and fourteen great-grandchildren.
