Obituary for Mother Ollie Mae Brown-Caslin
June 15, 1945 – September 27, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mother Ollie Mae Brown-Caslin , a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She transitioned from this life on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 80.

Mother Caslin was born on June 15th, 1945, in Barnesville, Georgia, to the late Willie Lee Brown and the late Rosa Lee Brown. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she spent many years as a battery filler at Rushton Mill, Thomaston Mill, Highland Mill, and Dundee Mills #5 & #1. Her path later led her to a career of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Heritage Inn Nursing and Rehabilitation, and she concluded her working years as a Dishwasher and Trainer at the 76 Truck Stop.

Her greatest joy was her family. Mother Caslin loved traveling to visit family and friends and cherished every moment they spent visiting her. She found happiness in family picnics, cooking, dancing, fishing, viewing movies, and attending family reunions. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, and her presence was the heart of every gathering. Especially when her nephew Tyrone and Annie Brown would visit from abroad and if not able to see her physically, they would always call to hear her loving voice.

Mother Caslin leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and family. She is survived by her five devoted children: Bernice Caslin (Willie), Thomas Caslin, Linda Gail Caslin-Brown(Fletcher Davis, Sr.), Edward Caslin, Jr., Brenda Lee Walton and Telisa Mathis Caslin.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her grandchildren: Bernicia Allyah Reese (Army), Quisheika Shontae Reese (Almilicar, II), Ralph Lawrence (Karen) Collins, III, Willquarius Lorenze (Tiara) Reese, Quadrea Reese, Rodrea Reese, Tiera Monshay Davis (Derrick), Jamesha Lashay (Cody) Davis, Artravious Davis, Fletcher Otis Davis, Jr., Demarion Davis, Shalendra Caslin(Ladarius), Kabresha Jester (Willie), Tyreese Haugabrooks Caslin(Avah), Derrius Shaw, Brenda Shariniece Caslin, and Tomeshia Dozier.

She was also the proud great-grandmother to: Almecia Shontae Fuller, Amilicar Abdul Fuller, III, Ameeyah Kirkwood, Khmari Willie Reese, Derrick Slaton, Jr., Kamryn Jackson, Bryson Slaton, Zion Jacoby Collins, Roman Collins, Kaitlyn Collins, Reubin Collins, Rain Collins, Azuria Bussey, Andrevious Bussey, Corderra Bryant, Ladarius Marshall, Khyson Mathews, Auri Mathews, Jalen Amir Haugabrooks, Olivia Blackmon, Abigail Caslin, and Brandon Spears. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward H. Caslin, Sr.; her brothers, Mr. Henry "Junior Mack" Brown and Lonnie Brown; and her sisters, Bobbie Jean Brown and Annie Brown.
