Mother Maggie Lou Barkley-Bridges was born on June 18th, 1924 in Jackson, Georgia to the late Mr. & Mrs. Annie Stroud and Wade Barkley.

Mother Bridges had 4 sisters, 2 brothers and 1 daughter that preceded her in death. Mother Bridges was United in Holy Matrimony to the late Robert Bridges and to this union (5) five children were born.

She was a remarkable soul that graved us for 99 years. In each chapter she painted life with joy, kindness and resilience. Mother Bridges was a devoted member of Eighth Street Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess. She loved to talk, especially about the goodness of Jesus and to pass on wisdom that she acquired throughout her years. She loved her family and friends tremendously. Mother Bridges faith was an important part of her life. It was her belief in God that kept her grounded and gave her guidance in raising her 5 children and multiple grandchildren. Her heart was filled with so much love that it was felt by everyone she touched. Her legacy will be a beacon of love and inspiration. As we bid farewell, may her memory echo in our hearts; and in her honor, let us continue to spread kindness. The advice given to those who she knew and loved was to love one another and "Be Sweet".

Mother Maggie Bridges entered into rest, Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at Westbury Center of Jackson. She leaves to cherish the loving memories, Dorothy B. Parker, the late Beverly Bridges, Bobby Bridges, (Bernice), Ralph Bridges, Doni Bridges (Brenda) and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
