Mother Mattie Florence Ector was born January 1st, 1922 to the late Clifford and Floria Ector in Griffin, Spalding County.

She joined the Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully until her health would no longer allow her service. Her last auxiliary was the Mother's Board. Ms. Ector was employed by the Griffin-Spalding County School System and retired after many years of service.

On Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, Mother Ector went from Labour to Reward with her Heavenly Father. Those left to cherish the memories and continue the legacies are cousins: Shirley Smarr, Denise Butler, David Smarr, Louise Bass, along with the Bass, Ector, Crawley and Smarr families, as well as a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
