Ms. Berdie McCune was born July 1st, 1947, in Griffin, GA, to the late Virgil and Tommie Weems. Progressing through the Spalding County School system, she graduated from Fairmont High School in 1964.  She joined George Washington McCune in Holy Matrimony on January 20th, 1968.  This union lasted for 30 years until George McCune was called to his Heavenly Home.  She was a faithful employee with Springs Textile Industries for 36 years, at which point she retired.  She was also an honorary member of the Diamonettes Social Club.

Berdie joined Bethel Grove CME church of Griffin, GA at a young age.  After marriage, she joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Griffin, GA.  She ultimately joined New Generation Christian Fellowship in 1998 where she served faithfully as the driver of the church van, on the Finance Committee, served on the Usher's Board and Custodial Staff, as well as on the hospitality committee.

She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 31st, 2024 at her residence.

Preceding her in death were: her loving Husband, George Washington McCune, her Father, Virgil Weems, her Mother, Tommie Weems, and Brother, David Weems.  Leaving to cherish her loving memories are her Son: Avery McCune, Sr., Daughter: Kelly McCune, and Sister: Apostle Mamie J. Smith (Dwayne).  Also cherishing her memories are her Grandchildren: Shunita (Ontwan) Cotton, Avery McCune, Jr., Ferlandrous McCune, Montarius McCune, Timmeshia Long, Shantavia Hart, and Octavious McCune; along with 16 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Aunt: Alberta Sims, 6 Sisters-in-law, 4 brothers-in-law; also leaving a host of nieces nephews, cousins and special friends: Mattie Harrison and Carrie Jackson; along with many other loving friends.

She never met a stranger and always left you with a smile.  Her pleasant attitude and contagious laughter always left their mark, and will forever be remembered.
