IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Eugene
Blackmon
August 13, 1967 – November 17, 2023
Michael "Mike" Eugene Blackmon
was born on August 13th, 1967, in Molena, Georgia to Willie Albert and Alberta Blackmon. He transitioned on November 17th, 2023, to be with our Heavenly Father.
Mike was a graduate of the class of 1986 from Pike County High School in Zebulon, Georgia. After graduating, he was employed at the Griffin Community Center for the disabled. Although he was considered disabled, he did not let that stop him from being a social butterfly and his ability to strive for higher grounds. He never met a stranger, and his smile was contagious to everyone he met. His persona truly showed the world the meaning of love.
He went to live and help take care of his grandmother after the death of his cousin, Maurice. He spent his time visiting the community of Hilltop and attending church at Old Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with his "Big Momma". He loved singing and praising the Lord.
Mike loved people and made conversation with anyone he met, whether at church, family gatherings or any event he was apart. Oh boy how he loved music and always wanted latest CD on the market. Let's not forget the wrestling TV shows and all the magazines he loved to collect. If you knew Mike, then you knew he had to have your phone number to put in his phone log, right? He called lots and lots of family and friends every day until his health began to decline. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Lee Marvin (1994) and Gentsey Thompson-Willis (1997); Uncles: Rev. Johnny Willis (2009), Eugene Willis (2002) and Fred Willis (2012); Aunt: Bettye Atkins (2022); and Nephew: Quinten Blackmon (2012).
Our beloved Mike is survived by his loving and devoted parents: Willie Albert and Alberta Blackmon of Molena, Georgia; Sisters: Belinda (Wesley) Favors of Gay, Georgia and Regina Bridges of Molena, Georgia; Brother: Reginald Blackmon of Molena, Georgia; Uncles: Marvin (Raymel) Blackmon of Far Rockaway, New York, Johnny Blackmon of Bronx, New York, Roosevelt (Betty) Blackmon of Griffin, Georgia, Pastor Fred (Janice) Blackmon of Concord, Georgia, Billy Willis and Roosevelt (Gloria) Willis of Molena, Georgia; Aunts: Bertha Holloway of Columbus, Ohio, Gladys Willis, Laura (Johnny) Parks, Alice (Robert) Buckner of Molena, Georgia, Mary Willis of Griffin, Georgia, Geraldine (Henry) Crawford of Atlanta, Georgia, Alma Blackmon of Decatur, Georgia and Dorothy (Ruben) Washington of Homestead, Florida; Nieces: Anisha Bridges and Jailah Blackmon of Molena, Georgia, Shequita (Jason) Mangham and Deondra (Chris) Hutcherson of Hampton, Georgia; Nephews: Nicholes (Racheal) Burden of Jonesboro, Georgia, Danny (Kentrell) Dunlap of Griffin, Georgia, Jimmy Bridges of Zebulon, Georgia and Cameron Bridges of Williamson, Georgia; Special Sisters: Deborah Holmes of Molena, Georgia and Chantol Beckham-Jackson of Ellenwood, Georgia; along with a host of great nieces and nephews that loved him dearly; many devoted cousins, friends, classmates and lots of his "girlfriends".
