IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lady Sherry
Lynn Mullins-Williams
March 8, 1962 – November 3, 2023
Mrs. Sherry Lynn Mullins Williams was born on March 8th, 1962 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Andrew and Marietta Mullins. She attended Griffin-Spalding Public Schools and graduated from Griffin High School with the class of 1981. She continued her education at the University of West Georgia where she studied Nursing and sang with the United Voices of West Georgia until 1983. In 1984 she graduated from Griffin Tech where she earned a diploma in Clerical Studies.
In June of 1985, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life: Willie F. Williams, affectionately called "Bull". Their bond was inseparable and truly displayed the Love of Christ. This union brought forth three (3) daughters that she described as "beautiful, brilliant and bold", and whom she held dear to her heart.
Sherry joined Chapel Hill Baptist Church at an early age. During her tenure at Chapel Hill, she served as Church Secretary, Deaconess, and was a member of the Senior and Gospel Choirs until 2004. In June of 2004 she became the First Lady of Northside Baptist Church where she served faithfully in all capacities until her departure.
In her lifetime many companies had the honor of employing her, including: J.C. Penny, Holiday Inn as Hotel Manager and in 2001 she pursued entrepreneurship, opening Williams' Childcare and Learning Center. It was her that she taught her "black butterflies" not only basic education like reading and writing but also the importance of loving God and scriptures they will never forget.
She was very passionate about serving the community and bringing awareness about breast cancer. Since 2011, Sherry had been an active participant in Relay for Life. She managed to raise thousands of dollars to help in the fight against cancer, especially for those in Spalding County. She hosted and spoke at many events in support of cancer awareness.
Sherry was the sweetest person you would ever meet and loved to have a good time with family and friends. She enjoyed music, singing and dancing. She also loved cooking and spending time with her family of Sundays and holidays. Some days you would even catch her in her garden or on one of her porches, tending to her plants and flowers. Let's not forget her grandkids, she enjoyed them the most.
On Friday, November 3rd, 2023 Sherry transitioned from her earthly labor to eternal rest in the Lord. She was surrounded by her loving family while at Wellstar Spalding Regional Hospital. She will be joining her mother, father and sisters: Florine Willis Owens and Geraldine Jones; and her brother: Andrew Mullins in eternal rest.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her Husband of 38 years: Willie "Bull" Williams; three (3) Daughters: Aquarius (Diego) McGhee, Cynthia "Cherie" (Shawn) McClain and Essence Williams; her Niece/Daughter: Clarice Mullins; her Grandchildren: Nehemiah Byars, Zion McClain, Christian McClain and Morgan McClain; her Brothers: Pastor Lorenzo (Shirley) Mullins, Gregory (Brenda) Mullins and Terrance Mullins; her Sisters: Henrietta Colquitt, Renetha Neal and Cynthia Mullins; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, church family, community and friends.
I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
