Mrs. Joan S. Jackson departed us peacefully on January 25th, 2024, in Fayetteville, Georgia at 2:44 P.M. surrounded by her loved one's.

Our lovely Mother was born in Griffin, Georgia on March 11th, 1952, to Tempie Lee (Wimbush) Sutton. She attended schools in Griffin, Georgia. After completing school she married her husband James Jackson, Sr. In 1967 and they started a family. In the early 70's she moved her family to the Atlanta and surrounding areas until her passing. Our Mother enjoyed life; she would definitely say she had no regrets living here on this earth. Some of her enjoyable moments were playing BINGO and the GA Lotto. If you ever had the opportunity of meeting her you would know there was never a dull moment. She would give you the shirt off of her back if you needed one, but she would also speak her mind and her truth whether it was good or bad.

Our Mother was Beautiful, Fierce and full of Wisdom and had a positive impact on any one she had an encounter with. Our Mother always provided us with whatever we needed or wanted except for this moment, she left us here, but she had to obey her Heavenly Father and go with him.

She always enjoyed family gatherings, and everyone wanted to gather at her home, as they talked about the old days and times. She had a special relationship with each of her siblings. her and her brother Phillip were the fun and party ones', her sister Carolyn was her Spiritual Confidant, her sister Pat was her phone and gambling buddy, Glen was her live in buddy and then there were her two protectors: Curly and Bobby Lee. Her kids called her different titles such as Mama, Sexy and I called her Elizabeth when I needed to get her attention.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Bernard and her siblings Vera (Lump), Willie (Sonny), Ricky, Glenn, Phillip and Bobby Lee. She has gained her heavenly wings and is now rejoicing with her loved ones'.

Mother Joan S. Jackson leaves to mourn three children: Kathy (Felix) Holmes, Erica Jackson and Shedrick Jackson. She also leaves to mourn two sisters: Carolyn Sutton of Atlanta and Patricia Evans of Griffin; along with two brothers: Vernon (Curly) Sutton of Atlanta and Bob Hardy of Griffin, Georgia. There are eight grandchildren: Michael(Spoody), Alexis(Lou),Rashad(Tre), Monique, Cortez(Gubba), Bernard(Bubba), MaKayla and Shedrick, Jr.(Dee). Four great-grandchildren: Micah, McKenzie(MiMi), Hope and Aiden and her special friend: Fred Evans.
