Mother Gwen Jordan was born July 10th, 1946, to Maggie Shannon in Griffin Georgia.  She attended Fairmont High School and was Valedictorian of her Class of 1964. After High School, she attended Clark Atlanta University.  She returned back to Griffin to raise her sons.  She touched the lives of so many with her warmth and wisdom, always offering a helping hand or a comforting word. Her presence brought light to every room, and her memory will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her.

Her core tenants in life were God, Family, Education, and Consistency.  She was a long-time member of Wolf Creek County line Baptist Church, and ensured her kids were raised in the church with a strong sense of self, confidence, providing the tools necessary for life.

Gwen was a woman of kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Family was extremely important, and she cherished the vacations and holidays spent with them.   She didn't miss a day in four years of visiting her mother at the nursing facility.  An avid reader, she stressed and encouraged higher education.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the impact she had on everyone she met.  Those left to continue the legacy and cherish the memories are her sons:  Sean and Todd Giles, her grandchildren:  Sam and Matt Giles, her daughters in spirit: Romona Giles and Tanya Giles, along with several cousins, other relatives and friends.

While Gwen may no longer walk among us, her love and kindness will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.  We are grateful for the time shared with her and will forever carry her memory within our hearts.

Rest in peace, Gwen. You will forever be loved and remembered.
