On January 10th, 1953, Emmett Emil Lee, Jr., a manifestation of love, was born to the union of Mary B. Lee and Emmett Lee, Sr. who proceeded him in death.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was a Deacon and Assistant Superintendent at Christ Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church of Austin under the Leadership of the Late Pastor Milton Brunson.
Emmett received his formal education in the Chicago Public Schools System and received his associate degree from Macolm X College. Upon his journey he entered the United States Army and served in the National Guard. He worked for the State of Illinois in the Department of Human Services for over 30 years.
He started his journey of sobriety on January 9th, 1994. He attended Narcotics Anonymous meetings faithfully. Emmett served many years as Secretary, Chairman, Treasurer, and on the Board of Directors in the Chicagoland Area before moving to Georgia.
Emmett entered holy matrimony to Bertha Adams on August 2nd, 1991. Although they later divorced after 32 years of marriage, Bertha abided by the vows that she made until his death did them part at their residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Allegra and Jacqueline. Emmett leaves his memories with his loved ones; his wife: Sharon Taylor; Partner: Bertha Adams-Lee; his children: Emmett, III, Felicia, Rizon, Sr., Allegra and Bobby; his grandchildren Rizon, Jr., Z'Nya, Z'ianna, Angel; his brother: Earl (Mary) Miles of Dolton, Illinois; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, his NA Family (Jarvis, James, Joe, Charles, Wyucha, Kim, Smitty) and friends.
