Mr. Early James Evans was born on June 7th, 1947 to Maude Irene Parks-Evans and Reuben Jake Evans. He was preceded in death by both parents, brothers: Laron Parks, Ray Evans, John Douglas Evans; and sister: Eula Mae Evans.

James attended East Pike Elementary School and Pike County Consolidated High School. He was a fun loving, jovial, caring and compassionate man, as well as a good provider. He loved being around family and friends. James enjoyed fishing, dancing, singing and having a good time. One of his favorite songs he liked singing was, "My Last Two Dollars".

He accepted Christ at an early age and joined Robert's Chapel United Methodist Church. After moving to Roberta, he still had the Love of God in his heart and became a watch member at St. James Baptist Church.

On Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, at 3:22 A.M., he took flight and transitioned from his earthly labor to eternal rest at Brightmoor Hospice of Griffin.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories a devoted Daughter: Shenita Evans; and two devoted Sons: Terrance (Anita) Evans and Terrell (Katrisha) Beckham; Grandchildren: Alisha, Tiara, Tia, Tariq and Tevon; Brothers: Charles Evans and Roosevelt Evans; Sisters: Juanita Evans, Burnita Evans and Deborah (Rev. Thomas) Willis. A special and devoted companion: Willa Smith of Roberta, Georgia; Godchildren: Savannah and D.J.; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
