IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deacon Roosevelt
Robinson
November 11, 1936 – January 6, 2025
~ Reflections of Life ~
On November 11th, 1936, God created an incredible man in Roosevelt Robinson. Born in Pike County, Georgia, to the late Charlie and Lillie Mae Alexander Robinson, Roosevelt was destined to leave a lasting impact on those around him.
In 1958, Roosevelt married his soulmate and the love of his life, the late Blanche Hutcherson-Robinson. Together, they raised three children and built a life filled with love and dedication. After relocating to Atlanta, Roosevelt worked various jobs, including as a parking attendant, dump truck driver, and ultimately retiring from a fulfilling career in construction.
Roosevelt found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing and gardening. Despite his declining health following emergency surgery to remove a hernia in March 2024, he remained a source of love and strength to his family. On Sunday, January 5th, 2025, at 10:30 PM, Roosevelt peacefully passed away in his sleep at his home.
Roosevelt was preceded in death by his beloved wife Blanche, his son Roosevelt Jr., brothers Horace and John Robinson, and sisters Betty Jackson, Lowette Lindsey and Charlie Mae Moreland.
He leaves behind cherished memories with his loving family, his son: Randy (Rhonda) Robinson and daughter: Deedrea (William) Burson; sisters: Essie Mae Jackson and Dorothy Ann Jackson; brothers: Arlee (Lena) Robinson, Charlie L. Robinson and Benny (Donzella) Robinson; grandchildren: Jason, Justin, Tyler, and Jordan Robinson, Patrick, William Jr., and Kaelon Burson; and great-grandchildren: Jaida and Justin Jr. Robinson, Amirah Branker, and Naliyah Burson.
Roosevelt's memory also lives on through his extended family, including Wanda Cooper, Candace Puckett, Jonathan Barnard, Shanna Branker, Kymmeon Young, Antwon Dixon Jr., Chasity and Kristin Cook, Sandra, Brian and Tayler Williams, and a host of daycare children, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Roosevelt Robinson's life was a testament to love, hard work, and devotion to family. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
