Deacon J.D. Williams was born September 18th, 1930 to the late Otha Williams and Eugene Leach. He was married to Opal Nell Jones-Williams who preceded him in death, and a daughter: Patty Williams who also preceded him in death.
JD attended grade school until he went to work to provide for his Family. Trucking was his life. He drove trucks until his health declined. He was employed at Archie Sand & Gravel, Bowman Transportation and JR Mabbett APC just to name a few.
He joined Chappell Hill Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully as a devoted deacon.
Preceding him in death are his two brothers: Henry Williams and Eugene Williams.
JD departed this life on Friday, December 6th, 2024 leaving to cherish the loving memories a devoted family daughter: Rita Jones Head; son: Gene Williams; two granddaughters: Tamarie(Matthew) Pate, Lady Harriet (Pastor Anthony) Wilson, Sr.; one grandson: Kevin (Renee Austin) Taylor, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Kieara, Shonti, Keya, Latreece and Mia; great-great-grandchildren: Kenyan, Kajon, Kori, Ki'er, Shysie and Tashseen; three sisters: Christine Maddox, Ina (Pastor Harry) Patrick and Dorothy Williams; one brother: Minister Ferris (Sirecely) Williams; along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; and his two special nephews: Vincent Jones and Freddie Jones.
