Charlene Mays, affectionately known as "Sol", who brightened our lives with her warmth and laughter. Born on May 8th, 1951, in the vibrant town of Zebulon, Georgia, to Mary "Lizzy" Mays and Deola Willis, she was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Sol's journey began at Spalding County Public Schools, where she embraced learning and community. Her faith was a guiding light, as she was baptized at an early age at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Professionally, Sol dedicated over twenty years of her life to Dundee Mills, embodying diligence and dedication.

But it was Sol's magnetic personality that truly set her apart. A social butterfly with a heart of gold, she effortlessly brought joy to every gathering. Her home was a haven of hospitality, always open to family and friends in need. Sol's candid nature and infectious humor made her a cherished confidant, never hesitating to speak her mind with love and honesty. Her signature phrase, "Your dime, my time", reflected her unwavering spirit and generosity.

Sol's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her loved ones. She is reunited in heaven with her parents, Mary "Lizzy" Mays and Deola Willis, her daughter, Lisa Wimbush, sister, Janice Allen, and brother, Steven Willis.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter: Tess Mays-Williams; her grandchildren: Dwayne (Samantha) Williams, Waynesia (Rashunde) Henley, Latressa (Octavious) Morris, Dyron (Shawndrea) Mays, Quinilly (Chaundra) Brownlee; along with her sisters: Betty Jean Allen, Debra Mays, Jessie Mae Whitner, Dorothy Willis Rose, and her brothers: Timothy Mayes, Jerry (Barbara) Allen, Gary Allen, James Harold Blackwell and Joshua Blackwell. Sol also leaves behind her niece: Angela Leverette and special nephew: Kenneth (Yoncee) Leverette; along with countless other family members and friends who will forever hold her dear in their hearts. Sol's legacy of love, laughter and compassion will continue to shine brightly through those she touched.
